A day I was particularly happy was a rainy afternoon just a few days ago. I had taken my son to Seabreeze, a local amusement park, when suddenly it began to rain. And not just small drops or mists of rain. We experienced a torrential downpour. It began to thunder and there was lightning in the sky. All the rides shut down and we had no choice but to go home. We arrived home, drenched, clothes dripping wet, the sky still storming when I suddenly realized how quiet the street was. No cars, no neighbors, no noise other than the thunder overhead. My son ran to the nearest puddle and jumped in, announcing his action, "BIG splash!", when I decided to join in. We splashed in the biggest puddles we could find and raced twigs and leaves in the stream that had formed between the curb and the road. We played for over an hour until the rain finally stopped and we went inside for hot chocolate. It was wonderful to be a kid with my kid.
I came to the University of Rochester because they had a doctoral program in education. I am currently going to school for a Ph.D. in Teaching and Curriculum.
My dream job? This is it!
